One of the biggest rules of the Kilimanjaro is to make sure you drink over 4 liters of water every day. You will need to take a lot of fluids while hiking.
Water has oxygen content and therefore you will need a lot of it such that you increase the oxygen in the blood stream to compensate when the levels run low on higher altitude.
The body also is exposed to a lot of head especially on the higher altitude and therefore you will need to take a lot of fluids to cover up the excessive loss through sweating and urination.
In normal circumstances, the body of someone hiking will lose about 2.5 liters of water every day. Therefore with this level of loss of water from the body, you will have to match with more in take.
Dehydration can increase the symptoms of Altitude sickness.
Why is Dehydration Dangerous?
Even if it were not on the Kilimanjaro Mountain, dehydration will be very dangerous. The body needs a lot of water for survival.
A normal human being will survive without food for several weeks but the body can’t do without water for more than 3 days.

The water in a human body will be used to regulate the temperature.
Most of the body’s processes are inefficient when the body is low on water.
Symptoms of Dehydration
Some of the signs of dehydration are decrease in urine output. Then dark urine. At this rate the dehydration will be a bit mild.
Most symptoms will be the same with the altitude sickness and this is because dehydration will also affect your acclimatization.

On the other hand you can use reusable bottles.
You can add something to the water like vanilla or nay other flavor to increase on the intake of water.
Just make sure you just make it a habit to drink and you shouldn’t wait for thirst.
