Green Boots, the Famous Body on Mount Everest

The green boots is the most famous person to have died on the Mountain Everest. It’s become so famous that hikers use it as a land mark on their way to the summit.

The story is so tragic but has over time been used to the benefit of the hikers. The real name of this hiker that lots his like while on the Everest Mountain is Tsewang Paljor an Indian Sherpa.

He passed on in the year 1996. The story left many question in the minds of the people that have visited this area. After all these years from his death, his body is still on the Everest Mountains under the request of his family.

Mountain Everest is the tallest mountain in the world and it has claimed the lives of over 300 people since the start of counting in the year 1924.

Usually most families will claim the bodies of their loved one but the family of Tsewang Paljor decided that the body of their son be left their in his memorial.

Because the mountain is very cold, bodies left here are frozen and can stay here permanently. Tsewang Paljor has been on the mountain Everest since May 1996.

The body of Tsewang Paljor AKA Green boots can be found at a cave on altitude 8,500 meters above sea level. It’s one of the land marks of this area.

The identity of the man in the green boots has never been revealed but sources say it a one Tsewang Paljor, an Indian climber. He was wearing green boots at the time of his death and thus the name Green boots.

Where is Green Boots located?

Green Boots’ body can be found in a cave at an altitude of 8,500 meters and it has become one of the landmarks for those who head up the mountain from the northern side.

Green boots on the Everest climb. In 2014, a Chinese expedition group moved the green boots body from a very noticeable location to a cave in the same area.

It is believed that Tsewang Paljor was born on 10 April 1968 in India in the region of Ladakh which is known for its clear skies and beautiful scenery. He was a border police officer and he died at the age of 28 years.
